Species Library

I've long toyed with the idea of putting together a species library.
Okay, this is hardly a library, and I dont know if it is going to be continued.
but...
the main concept is that I illustrate every species's most dominant feature,
sort of create icons out of them.
In which case an Elk has huge horns and a fly is suspended in time.

Tunnel Vision

been drawing some new things lately, with a new way. I draw things that are around and away from the center, they behave more like frames. Then I cut them and use flatly painted surfaces or ready made coloured paper as background.
Also they are all (to some extent or trying to be) symmetrical. I figured theres something special about symmetry. As if it reflects the way the natural world behaves: with symmetry, but not quite. Cheap trick, I know, I just wanted to re-establish my aesthetics, find a center.

Bones

I recently started teaching myself anatomy, and became quite fascinated by the structure of bones ( have not reached yet the tendons and muscles part of the book, which might be interesting aswell) what I love about bones is the logic (everything fits like legos), also, the way they look (no explanation required). It is a shame most art-schools no longer include it into their curriculum.
